Mission

Provide expert facilitation and inclusive stakeholder engagement to guide policy, program design, partnership cultivation and effective operational outcomes.

Carbon Farming

Regenerative grazing is a principle-driven agricultural practice for building soil health by managing livestock on perennial and annual forages, in a way that supports human and ecosystem health, farm profitability, and community and food system resilience. This practice improves the soil’s ability to retain carbon. That sequestered carbon can then be measured in terms of offsets which are then sold on the open market.

Climate Smart Products

In addition to sequestering carbon, regenerative grazing improves the health of the livestock who eat the grass through improved forage quality and the health of the ecosystem through increased water retention, reduced erosion and more diverse and resilient native plant and wildlife species. The Climate Smart program is an effort to increase the adoption of regenerative and holistic practices in agriculture, ranching and forestry which result in measurable sequestered carbon as an integral climate solution. Resulting products, commodities and offsets will be sold and promoted throughout the marketplace in support of circular economy goals to further climate benefits from producers to consumers.

Food Recovery Program

Blue Strike is working with California jurisdictions to support SB 1383 compliance and design programs to build capacity around Organics Management and Edible Food Recovery programs. The objectives are to work with local jurisdictions, businesses, food rescue networks and other stakeholders to identify and quantify existing efforts already underway within a given region and determine next steps moving forward to support participation, collection and compliance. The program includes: (1) capacity planning assessments, (2) program design, implementation, and monitoring, (3) coordination with food rescue organizations and networks, (4) outreach and education with Tier 1/Tier 2 business generators, and (5) development of innovative tools and resources to support donation, storage and distribution of recovered edible food. Beyond edible food recovery, Blue Strike supports organics collection outreach, lid flipping contamination prevention, zero waste program implementation, compliance education, and innovative procurement approaches for agricultural, governmental and residential end-product demand generation.
