The primary goal of the CAAP is to provide tools for the City of Pacific Grove and the community to reduce GHG emissions and build resilience to climate challenges. Blue Strike made recommendations for GHG emission reduction targets through 2030 that align with SB-32 and through 2050 to align with Executive Order B-30-15. The CAAP also addresses climate adaptation strategies in accordance with Senate Bill 379, resilience measures, as well as risks and vulnerabilities. Blue Strike produced a CAAP that aligned with the City’s other sustainability efforts and planning documents and outlined clear strategies that serve as the City’s roadmap for achieving the newly established reduction goals and adapting to a changing climate. Stakeholder engagement was a large focus for this planning effort.
