Blue Strike is partnering with the City of Thornton to develop an Environmental Sustainability Master Plan (ESMP) that will serve as a comprehensive roadmap for reducing emissions and advancing sustainability across the community. In collaboration with City staff and the Environmental Sustainability Task Force, we crafted a plan that is data-driven and community-centered, ensuring it reflects local priorities while establishing clear, measurable sustainability goals. Our approach included a comprehensive policy review to align the ESMP with existing City plans, as well as the completion of greenhouse gas inventories for both municipal operations and the broader community. Extensive community engagement was the cornerstone of this effort, with a strong emphasis on equity and amplifying diverse voices. The final ESMP will provide Thornton with a strategic, actionable framework to drive sustainability initiatives forward, equipping the City with the tools needed to achieve its long-term environmental goals.
