CLIMATE ACTION AND RESILIENCY PLANS
Client: Town of Brookline, MA
Project: Climate Action and Resiliency Plan
Blue Strike is working with the Town of Brookline, Massachusetts to develop a new Climate Action and Resiliency Plan (CARP) to build upon its 2018 Climate Action Plan and 2023 Hazard Mitigation Plan. This updated plan will provide a comprehensive, actionable roadmap to help Brookline achieve its net-zero emissions goal by 2040 while increasing the community’s resilience to climate impacts such as severe storms, flooding, and extreme temperatures. The CARP will integrate findings from Brookline’s previous sustainability and resilience studies, assess current progress, and prioritize strategies for implementation over the next ten years. Each action will include a detailed implementation plan, cost-benefit analysis, equity considerations, and identification of key partners. Through a collaborative and data-driven approach, including engagement with Brookline’s Environmental Justice and Zero Emission Advisory Board, the project will identify high-impact policies, programs, and projects for both Town-controlled and community-wide initiatives. The final plan will be clear, measurable, and focused on both immediate and long-term climate action and resilience outcomes.
